چکیده
Dr. Martin is the recipient of Research Career Development Award K04-AI-70335 from the National Institutes of Health. Received for publication 18 April 1977 and in revised form 24 June 1977. and lymphocytes from individual patients was also positively correlated (r = 0.889, P < 0.001 for nonsmokers and r = 0.942, P < 0.001 for smokers). These results indicate that the capacity for aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase induction is similar whether tested in lymphocytes or pulmonary macrophages from this group of pulmoniary disease patients.

CHROMOSOMAL PROTEINS IN PULMONARY ALVEOLAR MACROPHAGES
In this study the nature of chromosomal proteins, his tones and nonhistone in resident alveolar macrophages was investigated in comparison to peritoneal neutrophils and calf thymus proteins. Cells were obtained by lavaging the lung and after purity determination they were subjected to fractional extraction procedures. Proteins were then analysed on SDS polyacrylamide gels and densitometric...
متن کاملThe Immunoregulatory Effects of Four Allium Species on Macrophages and Lymphocytes Viability
Background: Immune cells perform unique functions against infections and imbalances in immunity associated with various diseases. Applying natural products may control immune responses. Among herbals, much attention has been paid to the immunoregulatory functions of Allium sativum. However, the effects of other Allium species on the immune system have remained undiscovered. Therefore, the curre...
متن کاملComparison of aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase induction in cultured blood lymphocytes and pulmonary macrophages.
Aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase induction was studied in cultured peripheral blood lymphocytes and pulmonary alveolar macrophages from 15 smokers and 8 nonsmokers with a variety of pulmonary diseases. Enzyme levels in lymphocytes from cigarette smokers cultured in medium without an inducing agent were 57+/-6 mU/10(6) cells (mean+/-SEM), while enzyme levels in lymphocytes from nonsmokers were 20+/-...
متن کاملبررسی اثر عصارۀ آبی و اتانولی بابونۀ شیرازی ((Matricaria chamomile بر فعالیت حیاتی ماکروفاژها و لنفوسیتهای موش BALB/c
Background and Objective: Matricaria chamomilla L. (MC) has been used as an effective plant for wounds, gastrointestinal disorders, pharyngitis, rheumatic pain and infertility for years. Until now, an in vivo study showing its extract effect on immune cells viability has not been done. The aim of this study was to determine the in vivo effects of MC aqueous and ethanolic extracts on macrophages...
متن کاملIdentification of Atypic and Classic, Mucinous and Nonmucinous Forms of Ovine Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma (OPA) and TTF1 Marker Expression
BACKGROUND: Ovine pulmonary adenocarcinoma (OPA) is a worldwide contagious bronchioalveolar carcinoma caused by infection of a beta retrovirus in sheep and less in goat. Neoplastic proliferation of type II pneumocytes and clara cells, produce papillary to acinar tumoral pattern with infiltration of macrophages, lymphocytes and plasma cells and interstitial fibrosis tissue. OBJECTIVES: This stud...
